Description

Starting here: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.python.distutils.devel/25267/focus=25436

there was some discussion of the fact that sudo pip install is a bit of an antipattern.

I raised pipsi as a possible replacement.

One issue though is that pipsi defaults to ~ even when running as root.

Do you think it would be reasonable to make pipsi, when run as root, do the equivalent of pipsi --home=/usr/local/pipsi/environments --bin-dir=/usr/local/bin ?
