Overview
Make flashcard sets for the new design page. The UI designs can be seen below:
These flashcards are tailored for secondary and A-level learners in the UK. There's more information on the requirements for these sets below.
What is required?
In the comments is a full list of the topics that flashcards need to be made for. We'll use this as a tracker to decide who does what.
How do I make flashcards?
There should be a fairly complete set of flashcards for each category. This is really important, to make sure that the flashcards made are genuinely useful for learners. To create a flashcard, the below steps are recommended:
- Find the syllabus for the GCSE/A-level subject. You can get this from any UK exam board, which includes WJEC, Edexcel, Educas and OCR
- Any exam board is fine, because we aren't tailoring flashcards specifically to any one syllabus
- Some topics in the above list belong to the same subject (for example, arithmetic and algebra are both part of Mathematics)
- Note all the topics mentioned in the syllabus
- Make a flashcard set for each. To do this, you could use:
- ChatGPT, generating CSV which you then import into Dolphin Flashcards using the API. Make sure it knows what the flashcard is for, to give an appropiate level of detail
- You could look at flashcards on Quizlet
- This is a good idea, to check the flashcards ChatGPT makes to ensure it provides an appropiate level of detail
- Add the flashcard set to Dolphin Flashcards. You could do this using the GUI (takes a long time) or using the API, which allows import from CSV. You can see documentation on this here: https://docs.dolphinflashcards.com/api-reference/endpoint/card-management/import-flashcard
For languages, it's easier to know what to do. The syllabus should tell you two things:
- The grammar needed. You can probably use ChatGPT to generate the CSV file for these cards
- One flashcard set should probably be for one verb form
- The vocabulary needed. The syllabus should tell you this

Multiple people can work on this at the same time! If you'd like to work on this, reply and let me know which flashcard set or sets you'd like to work on. I'll update the tracker above. When it's done, send a link for the set on dolphin flashcards. You can get the link by searching for the set on the community page, clicking on the correct flashcard, and copying the URL in the address bar
