Description

What's the issue?

I'm trying to run my gRPC server in a Docker container to replicate my production environment. Then, when running dg dev it throws this error. Note that I did point to the correct gRPC server using my workspace.yaml.

dagster._core.errors.DagsterLaunchFailedError: Error during RPC setup for executing run: dagster._core.errors.DagsterRunNotFoundError: gRPC server could not load run c436fe6e-f66f-46ae-98f7-7d70a99da8c2 in order to execute it. Make sure that the gRPC server has access to your run storage.

I made sure the directory for the DAGSTER_HOME environment variable exists and is mounted as a volume.

# Build the Docker image
docker build -t my-dagster-grpc .

# Run the container, mounting DAGSTER_HOME
# Replace /path/to/your/dagster_home with your actual DAGSTER_HOME path
docker run -p 4266:4266 \
  -v "$(pwd):/tmp/dagster_home" \
  -e DAGSTER_HOME=/tmp/dagster_home \
  my-dagster-grpc

My Dockerfile looks like this:

FROM python:3.12-slim
WORKDIR /app
RUN pip install uv
COPY . .
RUN uv pip install dagster --system && uv pip install -e . --system
EXPOSE 4266
CMD ["dagster", "api", "grpc", "--module-name", "dagster_grpc_poc.definitions", "--host", "0.0.0.0", "--port", "4266"]

I also made sure that when running dg dev, the DAGSTER_HOME was set to the same location.

What am I doing wrong here?
