Description

During my experiment to add MacOSX support I see that I cannot install duckdb via pip.

The Docker/Podman image are probably images for ARM platform and there is no way to install duckdb via pip, I need to add the file files/duckdb-1.1.1-cp312-cp312-manylinux_2_24_aarch64.manylinux_2_28_aarch64.whl and install duckdb using this file. The work to do should be:

  • Change from Dockerfile_macos to Dockerfile_arm
  • get the architecture x86 or ARM and select the correct Dockerfile
  • avoid the wheel (.whl) file inside the repository
    • we can download it via curl in builder dockerfile stage

Unfortunately I have no ARM device with Linux installed in order to go deep and understand if I'm correct about the architecture problem.
